Council marks 14th anniversary of poet Al-Baradouni's death

The council of the revolutionary youth organised a poetical and artistic event to mark the 14th death anniversary of the great Yemeni poet Abdullah Al-Baradouni.

A group of poets delivered poems remembering Al-Baradouni and praising his intellectual and poetic works.

Poet Amir Al-Saeedi delivered a poem addressing Al-Baradouni as the father of poetry and poets and highlighting his absence from the collective awareness and ignoring him in his life and after his death.

Poets Yahya Al-Hammadi, Abdulwahid Amran, Mohammed Al-Soudi, Abdullah Tahir, Ibrahim Al-Ali and Ammar Al-Zurayaki also delivered poems highlighting Al-Baradouni's works and some of his quotes.

From her part, Hana'a Saleh said that marking the death anniversary of this great poet amid ongoing war and tragedies comes because he was a national leader and inspirer.

Al-Hammadi, the poet of the revolution, sent a message to officials, especially intellectual ones saying: "15 years have passed since the death of the hunter of the lightening and he is still waiting for somebody to care about his intellectual and poetical works. When will you realise that a man who had given his life for the sake of taking you from the dark to the light has been completely failed?"
