The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council has been closely monitoring the recent events in Aden, which have followed the victories in Shabwa and the government forces' advancement towards Abyan and Aden to reclaim the state institutions occupied by the Emirati-backed so-called "Transitional Council."

Specifically, we have taken note of the events that have unfolded on August 29th.

In a previous statement, the Council had anticipated that the Saudi-Emirati coalition might resort to utilizing extremist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS as a means to counter any efforts aimed at stabilizing liberated areas and expanding the influence of the state. However, the Emirati-Saudi response surpassed all expectations by swiftly carrying out airstrikes on the legitimate forces in the Al-Alam area.

This act resulted in the loss of 300 lives and numerous injuries, representing a direct confrontation with Yemeni legitimacy and the nation's project. It flagrantly disregarded international norms governing state relations and showed a disregard for the established references that oversee the current stage and regulate the legitimacy of the coalition's presence in Yemen.

Confronted with this alarming and blatant escalation by coalition forces, which has extended beyond supporting and funding coup militias against the state, to targeting any endeavor by the legitimate authority to safeguard the interests of Yemenis, and labeling any opposition to this will as terrorism, as stated in the UAE's official statement.

The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council firmly believes that the UAE's military strike on the Yemeni army serves as the final blow to the Saudi-led coalition. Any attempts to distance Saudi Arabia from these crimes are deemed further wrongdoing, as evidenced by complicit positions and its legal responsibility as the leader of a coalition that has become the primary impediment to restoring legitimacy. Moreover, the coalition has inadvertently become the main enabler of the Houthi militia by adopting parallel terrorist models that bolster their position and justify their coup.

Within this context, the Council firmly attributes accountability to the Saudi and Emirati regimes for the extensive violations and crimes committed against civilians in areas controlled by their mercenaries, specifically in Aden and Abyan. The Council urges international human rights organizations to categorize these violations as war crimes, necessitating international accountability.

The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council, as a leading voice that foresaw the coalition's deviation and recognized it as an explicit occupation of Yemeni resources and a hindrance to their aspirations, strongly urges the legitimate government to adopt a resolute national position against the reckless actions of the coalition in Yemen and to accurately address the situation.

The Council appeals to national political forces to support the Yemeni state and explore viable strategies to regain its authority and existence, liberating it from the influence of the Transitional Council and its backers, which poses a significant threat comparable to the Houthi coup in the north.

This call encompasses opposition to all regional and sectarian agendas, as well as the ambitions of occupation and fragmentation, while advocating for the Yemeni Republican project to flourish independently from failed and treacherous foreign interventions. It is a plea to unite under a national framework that safeguards Yemen from further destruction and division, thwarting the schemes of those who seek to undermine its stability.

May the wounded recover swiftly, and may glory be bestowed upon the Federal Republic of Yemen.
