Council's statement on 57th anniversary of September 26, 1962

The greatest anniversary of light dawns upon our great Yemeni people, the light of the republic that saw its sun rise on the morning of the twenty-sixth of September, the glorious month of 1962, when the free closed the door on darkness and injustice from the detested past, the past of charlatanism, ignorance, and imamate, the mother of all evils.

Yemenis fervently celebrate their national day with enthusiasm and immense pride. They fondly remember the heroic figures of the liberating September and cheer for the revolution with the ardor of the weary, embracing every glimmer of hope and envisioning a brighter tomorrow. They aspire for a future where life attains the utmost sanctity and holiness.

As members of the Peaceful Revolution Youth Council, we gather today to celebrate this momentous occasion alongside our fellow Yemenis who cherish freedom. We proudly declare that the republic is the chosen path for our people, embodying principles of liberty, equality, and dignity. We stand united in our unwavering commitment, refusing to accept any project that threatens our destiny or seeks to regress us into darkness and stagnation, regardless of its name or justification.

The Council takes this opportunity to reaffirm its steadfast opposition to emergency projects that have plunged Yemen into a destructive cycle of war and conflict. These projects have attracted individuals driven by greed, jeopardizing the security, safety, stability, and unity of the Republic of Yemen.

The Council perceives the Houthi militia as a troubling manifestation reminiscent of the oppressive Imamate era. It firmly believes in the triumph of the Yemeni people's will, as they refuse to live under a rule rooted in arrogance and the fallacy of divine selection.

In this context, the Council holds the view that the primary responsibility for reclaiming the capital, Sana'a, from the hands of the coup perpetrators rests with the legitimate authority. The legitimate authority possesses the rightful mandate to undertake necessary measures to defeat the coup and safeguard the republican system.

Equally important, the legitimate authority bears the responsibility of dismantling the Aden coup backed by the UAE. This crucial task necessitates a strong national commitment to safeguarding the achievements of the Yemeni people, regardless of the sacrifices required.

In this regard, the Council holds the belief that the Saudi-Emirati coalition has veered off course from its stated objectives, prioritizing its own interests over the unity, independence, and resilience of the country. It has become an obstacle to Yemen's ability to resist non-patriotic endeavors, contradicting the justifications for its presence on Yemeni soil. Moreover, their role has raised suspicions of treachery, as evidenced by the alleged incident where the Emirati Air Force reportedly targeted Yemeni army forces near the gates of Aden, while Saudi Arabia is accused of covering up the crime and refraining from condemning it.

In light of these concerns, the Council emphasizes the significance of unveiling the subservient relationship between the Saudi-Emirati coalition and the putschists in Sana'a and Aden. It calls for exploring wider alternatives that empower the Yemeni people to effectively address the dangers that threaten their security, stability, sovereignty, and the territorial integrity of their nation.
