On this Sunday, the Peaceful Revolution Youth Council released a statement expressing their disapproval of any measures or declarations directed towards the division of Yemen. It emphasized that maintaining the unity of the national territory is a non-negotiable matter that cannot be compromised.
In a statement issued on the 33rd anniversary of the Yemeni unity, the council asserted that the problem in Yemen is fundamentally political rather than geographical.
The Council affirmed its firm disapproval of any understandings or agreements with outlaw militias without first ensuring their disarmament, the restoration of the tools of power, and the retrieval of looted private and public rights and funds. Any actions taken that fall short of these measures would be viewed as a deliberate endorsement of armed groups, legitimizing their existence at the expense of Yemeni citizens' stability and peace.
The Council also reasserted its stance against fragmenting the Yemeni file, as such a move would offer rebel militias the chance to exploit humanitarian and other demands to manipulate and maneuver politically. Such actions would undermine the fundamental goal of overthrowing the coup, regaining control of the capital Sana'a, and extending the Yemeni state's influence over the country's entire territory.
The Council called for all patriotic Yemenis to unite in a national front to restore their state, republic, unity, and sovereignty. It emphasized the importance of countering threats to Yemen's territorial integrity and identity, including those posed by the Houthi militia and regional separatists, and resisting any projects that undermine Yemen's stability and unity.
The Council vehemently denounced any efforts aimed at compromising the unity of Yemen's national territory or fragmenting the Yemeni file to advance the interests of regional countries in collaboration with militias in the north and south. The Council held the perpetrators, financiers, and collaborators, both domestic and foreign, accountable for this legal and historical transgression.
