The council of the revolutionary youth and the Yemeni community in Istanbul in collaboration with the Yemeni students' union in Turkey held a celebration to mark the 8th anniversary of the 11th February revolution.
Participants emphasised the importance of the anniversary of the February revolution as a national event on the path to restore the state and complete the dream.
The Yemenis will win their battle against the imamate, armed groups and counterrevolution forces, the council said in a statement, adding that the February revolution has become a humane, civilised and cultural resistance for the sake of a federal Yemen.
The celebration coincided with similar events organised in Yemeni cities and by Yemeni communities in Arab capitals to mark the anniversary. The cities of Taiz, Marib and Jawf witnessed carnivals and revolution torch-lighting ceremonies on the anniversary. And Yemeni communities in Malaysia and Tunisia marked the anniversary.
The council reiterated its rejection to armed coups as a principle embodied by the February revolution. Moreover, it voiced its absolute rejection to support to armed militias in liberated regions and occupation of Yemeni cities and islands, and condemned continued abductions of citizens and torture of detainees inside secret prisons in Aden and Sanaa.
