The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council closely monitors the visit of the Houthi militia delegation to Riyadh, which is part of a series of mutual visits and discussions between the Saudi ambassador and representatives of the group.
These developments occur at a crucial time and under circumstances that starkly remind Yemenis of the moment when their capital, Sana'a, was handed over to this militia, entwined with the conspiracy plotted against their national project.
In its previous statements, the Council has already expressed its warning regarding the Houthi-Saudi deal, deeming it suspicious and dangerous. The specific details of this agreement, however, remain unknown, even to the so-called legitimate government that has lost its national and moral legitimacy, and is subject to manipulation in its decision-making. Nevertheless, considering the indicators and the outcomes of past meetings, it is evident that the ongoing behind-the-scenes developments signify yet another round of concessions in favor of the terrorist Houthi militia.
In response to these developments and the silence of political entities, the Council reaffirms its stance on distorted agreements with the Houthi and any rebel group, emphasizing the following key points:
Firstly, taking into account Houthi practices and local and international customs and conventions, the Council categorizes the Houthi militia as a racist, terrorist group founded on violence and the notion of racial superiority. They are seen as an internal occupying force and power usurpers. The Council emphasizes that any agreements made with them should be contingent upon compelling them to surrender weapons, withdraw from occupied cities, and adhere to the principles of citizenship and political partnership. Referring to the three references, the Council asserts that these agreements are invalid and ineffective, warning of their potential to escalate wars and conflicts.
Secondly, the Council expresses surprise at the repeated use of the peace pretext whenever the Houthi militia is supported and its influence strengthened. It highlights that it is widely known that this group has a history of disregarding its commitments and has never upheld any agreement it has signed, starting from the Saada wars in 2004 up to the latest truce in 2022.
Thirdly, the Council asserts that the current situation between the Houthi militia and Saudi Arabia, both of which are considered internal and external occupying parties, is a bilateral arrangement primarily involving the militia, its demands, the Kingdom, and its interests, emphasizing that this agreement does not pertain to Yemen or its people and fails to establish the necessary conditions for genuine and lasting peace.
Finally, the Council urges national forces within and beyond Yemen to rally around their republic and act as a bulwark against the Saudi-Emirati coalition's plans, collaboration, and initiatives aimed at destabilizing and dividing Yemen, both in the north and south, through its efforts to fragment the Yemeni issue into smaller components that serve terrorist militias and solidify their control on the ground, at the expense of Yemenis' opportunities to regain their state, republic, and their chances for a just and comprehensive peace.
