Youth Council Clarifies Its Non-Involvement in Ministerial Communication Committee Meetings with Youth

The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council has expressed profound astonishment upon discovering that its name had been included among the participants in the meetings held under the auspices of both the Ministerial Committee and the Liaison Committee, which are specifically tasked with engaging in dialogue with the youth.

The Council firmly affirmed its rejection of the treatment of revolutionary youth in their involvement in the preparation of the Preparatory Committee for the National Dialogue, and had previously officially declared their rejection of government oversight over youth dialogues in a statement released several days ago.

The Council wishes to clarify several important points. Firstly, it acknowledges the undeniable value of dialogue as a principle for overcoming the country's challenges. However, its fundamental disagreement lies in the adoption of an authoritative policy towards the youth of the revolution, which cannot be accepted or legitimized.

Secondly, in response to the decision to hold a national dialogue, the Council has chosen a distinct path by facilitating youth-to-youth dialogues aimed at establishing a unified national vision on crucial aspects such as the state, constitution, political participation, and the role of civil society. This approach seeks to establish a civil state that restores dignity to the Yemeni people, who have endured decades of oppression and neglect.

Thirdly, it is crucial to emphasize that the Supreme Coordination Committee within the Council holds the exclusive authority to represent the Council and make decisions regarding participation in meetings and dialogues. The Committee has already decided not to partake in the current arrangements related to dialogue preparations and is actively focused on organizing a comprehensive youth forum that will conclude with a unified vision for the desired Yemeni state, reflecting the hopes and aspirations of its people.

The Council affirms its endeavor to complete the goals of the revolution, for which an elite of Yemen's young men and women sacrificed themselves, those who willed, destiny unfolded according to their will.

Long live the revolution, and may the martyrs be forever honored!
