Council's statement on formation of putschist political council in South

The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council has addressed the recent developments in the south, including the announcement by the deposed governor of Aden, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, of the creation of a political council to manage the region both internally and externally.

The council views this as a fresh coup against the legitimacy of President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference.

It is important to remind the Security Council and the Arab coalition countries that the ongoing war against the Sana'a coup, led by the ousted Saleh and the Houthi militia, derives its legitimacy from President Hadi's request as a representative of national legitimacy to restore the state.
Accordingly, the Council affirms several stances, including:

Firstly, there is no legitimacy that contradicts or conflicts with the legitimacy of President Hadi. Any party or person who works against the legitimacy of the President and the agreements made by Yemenis in the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference is considered to be a rebel against legitimacy and a supporter of the coup.
Secondly, defending the legitimacy of President Hadi is not merely defending an individual, but rather a defense of a nation that has been subjected to aggression by sectarian militias. It is also a defense of the Arab coalition that has repeatedly affirmed its commitment to the unity and independence of Yemen's territories.
Thirdly, if any of the coalition countries persists in opposing legitimacy in Yemen, it will be considered a country that supports the coup and opposes the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore their usurped state.
Fourthly, it is important to note that Yemenis reached a consensus during the National Dialogue Conference to address and resolve all of their issues. It is crucial to respect this agreement and refrain from imposing any new circumstances that contradict the fundamental and legal framework upon which the legitimacy of the Arab coalition's operations in Yemen was established.
Fifthly, it is imperative to acknowledge that the undermining of President Hadi's legitimacy and the promotion of Yemen's fragmentation would exclusively serve the interests of Iran. These actions would provide Iran with an opportunity to establish a significant presence in the region, thereby exacerbating the destabilization of security and stability not only within Yemen but also across the wider region as a whole.
Sixth, the Council emphatically calls upon President Hadi to assume his pivotal historical responsibilities, urgently address the situation, and make unwavering decisions to safeguard the unity of Yemen and uphold the sovereignty of its territories.
Finally, in a similar vein, the Council appeals to the coalition countries to extend their support to the president and the legitimate government as partners within a unified coalition sharing common goals and concerns.

The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council firmly maintains an unyielding belief that Yemen will ultimately prevail, and that any dubious endeavors backed by questionable funding will crumble in the face of the resolute will of its people.
