The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council is following recent news and developments on what appears to be an imminent Omani-brokered settlement between Saudi Arabia and the terrorist Houthi militia, in a blatant disregard for the sacrifices of Yemenis and their right to have a fully sovereign, independent and unitary State that puts citizens on equal footing, has the exclusive right to a monopoly on weapons, and represent the unified Yemen from Haradh to the outskirts of Al-Mahra.
Given this situation, the council warns against any suspicious deal between powers occupying and destabilizing Yemen and a racial superiority militia that has waged a war against the Yemenis and deprived them of their livelihoods, rejects any settlement that is not based on national unanimity and understanding among all Yemenis, does not ensure disarmament of all militias, disregards the State’s right to monopolize the possession and use of weapons, and does not guarantee the end to all forms of internal and external blockade on the country.
The Peaceful Revolution Youth Council considers the so-called presidential leadership council imposed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to be illegitimate and unrepresentative of neither the peoples will nor the legitimacy gained from credible patriotic positions, bias in favour of the nation’s choices and sacrifices, the adherence to constitutional pledges to safeguarding the territory, people, sovereignty and unity, reflecting and defending the supreme interests of the homeland and protecting them from any internal or external violators. Regrettably, all of these national obligations and duties have not been met by this council, neither through peace nor through war.
As far as the council condemns this plot aimed at undermining the Yemeni unity, dividing the country, empowering the militias to hang around the neck of Yemenis, legitimizing coups, and making the future of Yemen vulnerable to wars and chaos, it reaffirms its categorical refusal to the racial superiority Houthi militia’s project and to its war crimes against Yemenis, systematic destruction of social fabric and diversity, confiscation of rights and property, the forcible imposition of its sectarian discourse on everyone, occupation and siege of cities and overthrow of the state with direct support from the Iranian regime.
It further underlines the fact that this terrorist group does not in any way represent Yemen or the Yemenis, and would never accept peace, agree to any settlement, or abide by any agreement, as evidenced by its conduct and history, especially since it is inherently violent and coercive, and is driven by a racist creed and supremacist ideas contrary to the most basic values of the republic and the principle of equal citizenship. Accordingly, the only way to make this militia group submit to the state power is through the disarmament. Anything other than this is simply a surrender and not peace, which will entrench chaos and wars at the expense of Yemen’s security and stability and the right of millions of displaced people to return safely to their homes.
The Council also emphasizes that the practices of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in Yemen, including forced guardianship over decision-making, violation of sovereignty, control over islands, ports and resources and support for arming militias, as well as fueling chaos, encouraging separatist tendencies, undermining what’s left of symbolism of the State, thwarting the resistance, and empowering armed groups they have established to impose their control over government institutions and cities, represent the worst version of the occupation. They are doing all this without caring about the right to respect the neighborhood, international agreements, human principles and values, the principle of national sovereignty, nor even their declared pledges to provide support for the legitimacy, restore the State and its occupied capital, Sanaa. It’s worth noting that these pledges were the legal excuse for their intervention in Yemen within the so-called Operation Decisive Storm.
While underscoring the unity of Yemen, the republican system, and the references agreed upon between the Yemenis, including especially the national dialogue outcomes, the council calls on all free and honorable people in Yemen to use all possible means of resistance against the internal and external occupation until the restoration of the Yemeni state, and rehabilitation for Yemen’s land, people and history. In this context, it therefore holds the parties involved in such deals moral, legal and historical responsibility, reminding everyone of what the country has come to when many political and civil forces chose to remain neutral and silent before and during the fall of Sana'a.
Eternity to the martyrs
Healing to the injured
Glory to great Yemen
