15th January Movement, council condemn attack on movement members

The 15th January Movement and the council of the revolutionary youth condemned an attack by security forces against members of the movement and council activists on Monday and tearing up posters and signs of the movements in Sanaa streets.

Members of the movement and the council are gearing up for marking the 2nd anniversary of the revolution which started at Sanaa University with a celebration at the grand hall of the university on Tuesday.

In a condemnation statement, the movement said soldiers attacked members and activists from the movement and the council while they were raising posters and banners and distributing flyers about the second anniversary of the peaceful popular revolution in Sanaa streets.

Municipality police verbally abused movement activists and tore up posters they were raising, it said.

Moreover, the police confiscated IDs of the activists and tried to detain them on the pretext they had not obtained a license for their campaign, it said, adding that the police also said what its activists were doing defaced streets though Houthi death slogans were all over the area.
