Leader in the southern movement Abdullah Al-Nakhibi called on the General People's Congress to admit change and dismiss Ali Abdullah Saleh as leader of the party.
Saleh should admit defeat or depart instead of attempting to stay as an obstacle on the road of change, he said in a meeting organised by the council of the revolutionary youth on Sunday.
Regarding latest remarks by Tariq Al-Fadhli, he said Al-Fadhli was with the southern movement, then he joined the Ansar Al-Sharia, an offshoot of Al-Qaeda, later he joined Al-Qaeda and now he is out of tune.
"Al-Fadhli's remarks were in line with goals of the remnants of the former regime," he said.
The sons of the south have a major hope to rehabilitate the Yemeni unity which is the dream of the south and the north, he said.
"The revolution in the north was an extension of the southern struggle which started years before the youth revolution".
Saleh will continue to say he is for the unity though he conspired against the unity and the south shortly after the reunification treaty was signed, he said.
"We, in the southern provinces, see that the interest of the south lies in belonging to the youth revolution and participation in the national dialogue's technical committee in order to lay foundations and building a new Yemen," he said. "No one can steal the revolution".
The youth and the families of the martyrs have the right to appeal to the attorney general to bring killers to justice, urging the republican guard to realise that the time has changed and that they are part of Yemen under the new legitimate government represented by president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.
He also urged the youth to organise themselves more in their own unions and organisations.
